摘要: This study aimed to investigate the circulation of Orthobunyavirus species in state Mato Grosso (MT) Brazil. During a dengue outbreak 2011/2012, 529 serum samples were collected from patients with acute febrile illness symptoms for up five days and 387 pools female Culex quinquefasciatus captured 2013 subjected nested-reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction segment S Simbu serogroup followed by nucleotide sequencing virus isolation Vero cells. Patients (5/529; 0.9%) Cuiaba (n = 3), Varzea Grande 1) Nova Mutum municipalities positive Oropouche (OROV). Additionally, eight/387 Cx. segment, minimum infection rate 2.3. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that all belong subgenotype Ia, presenting high homology OROV strains obtained humans animals Brazilian Amazon. The present paper reports first detection an Orthobunyavirus, possibly OROV, mosquitoes MT. finding reinforces notion arboviruses frequently reported Amazon Region circulate sporadically MT during outbreaks.
