摘要: We study the ground states of one-dimensional Bose-Bose mixtures under harmonic confinement. As we vary interspecies coupling strength up to limit infinite repulsion, observe a generalized, composite-fermionization crossover. The initially coexisting phases demix as whole for weak intraspecies interactions, whereas atoms localize individually strong repulsion. By symmetry, two components end with strongly overlapping profiles, albeit sensitive symmetry-breaking perturbations. Different pathways emerge if have different atom numbers, or masses and/or trap frequencies.
