摘要: Abstract Apart from its nutritive functions, the periosteum critically affects bone regeneration via stem/osteoprogenitor cell content. Normal healing after fractures, trauma–orthopedic interventions and invasive dental procedures is linked to reestablishment of periosteal microcirculation, but reconstruction, replacement or repair lost tissues may also be performed with autologous periosteum. Besides initiation differentiation during remodeling processes, together endosteum plays significant roles in pathogenesis both hormone-related trauma-induced osteoporotic alterations metabolism. Nevertheless, axial bones, particular jawbones, appendicular bones display differences not only their blood supply fracture characteristics, respect development osteoporosis reactions treatment modalities (i.e. bisphosphonates). These microcirculatory reactions. The present overview summarizes relevant data studies focusing on different anatomical locations optimal background methodologies, study models most observations.
