摘要: Profitable extraction of previously inaccessible shale energy reserves has led to the rapid expansion exploration across United States. We present one first empirical studies measure impact early on surrounding homeowners using data from Washington County, Pennsylvania, 2008 mid 2010. find that property values are negatively impacted by gas activity, but this depends proximity and intensity activity is largely transitory. The negative effects larger for households located close major highways sourced with private well water.
