摘要: The nuclear envelope (NE) is a double membrane bilayer, which serves to compartmentalise the environment from cytoplasm and regulate movement of molecules in out nucleus. Another important role NE physically mediate communication between cytoplasmic domains, facilitated by linker nucleoskeleton cytoskeleton (LINC) complex consisting filamentous lamins on inner surface large rod-like nesprins outer surface, linked SUN domain proteins that bridge bilayer. On membrane, link, via N-terminal binding cytoskeletal components such as actin microtubules. These physical connections allow rapid mechanical perturbations into nucleus resulting gene expression responses designed adapt cell environmental changes. Mutations these result disease phenotypes, vary severity tissue specificity are often broadly termed ‘premature ageing disorders’. One key phenotypes frequently present cardiomyopathy. As result, becoming increasingly relevant context cardiac cytoarchitecture. discovery cardiomyopathies consistently arise mutations particular also emerin has led body research intended elucidate mechanisms leading NE-associated decline accurately define cardiomyocyte.
