摘要: Accumulated evidence suggests that our genes are still adapted to a pre-agriculturalist diet, which was devoid of refined sugars and dairy products modern dietary behaviour is in great part responsible for several life style diseases. Especially the consumption fruits, spices vegetables, cultivated or gathered from wild, perceived as being healthy endowed with prophylactic effect therefore many these items regarded both at same time: food medicine. I argue green leafy vegetables began contribute substantially human diet only beginning agriculture, when ecological niche weeds prosper. Wild added agriculturalists’ need form back-up resource times shortage micronutrients allelochemicals promoting development pharmacopoeias. Similarly wild foods staples recently getting more attention by phytochemists pharmacologists. local cultivars agro-ecotypes may present interesting opportunities phytochemical pharmacological analysis attempt identifying bioactive allelochemicals. Chemical biological characterization crop serves selection varieties specific nutraceutical properties. Germplasm can be obtained organizations, arrange easy access seeds rare cultivars, foster their commercialization secure catering through conservation agro-biodiversity.
