摘要: We explore households coping and adaptation strategies to climate change variability in Arid Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) using data collected from 500 across Samburu District; Kenya. hypothesised that as we move wet dry areas, households’ accumulate livestock wealth, structural cognitive social capital insurance against risks shocks associated with variability. In testing the hypotheses, for robustness used two approaches: simple regression generalized linear model. Results both approaches supported hypotheses wealth dryer areas. analysis showed rain do not matter all However, results model indicated matters poor financially integrated but rich households. The accumulation of was therefore generalizable rather contingent on household endowments. To improve abilities, it is desirable promote measures aimed at enhancing form lands. also can help a safety net cope adapt
