摘要: We evaluated progress towards animal biodiversity research in Georgia, a key area the Caucasus hotspot. By reviewing recently (1990–2018) published articles all areas of diversity research, we unmasked trends inventory, ecological and biogeographical studies, conservation issues Georgia. concluded that species inventory Georgia has significantly increased during last ten years, however rate extent investigation is far from satisfactory. Major gaps remain branches consequently existing knowledge inadequate to address modern challenges related ecosystem conservation. urge local governmental authorities international scientific societies support development stronger facilities cultivate interest as an important step maintaining globally Caucasus.
