摘要: Between April 1985 and December 1989, outpatient transoesophageal echocardiography was performed in 133 adolescent adult patients (14% of all studies) (age range 11-78 years; weight 30-95 kg) to determine the value this technique both establishing primary diagnosis (62 patients) post-surgical follow up (71 congenital heart disease. The results were correlated with findings precordial echocardiography, catheterization surgical inspection. Clear advantages imaging over include: (1) direct identification atrial appendage morphology patients; (2) delineation systemic pulmonary venous connections; (3) baffle function (eight patients); (4) better evaluation Fontan-type circulation (five (5) improved morphologic assessment atrioventricular junction valves (29 (6) definition subaortic obstruction (18 (7) ascending aortic Marfan's syndrome supravalvar stenosis (13 patients). problems encountered limited planes; poor visualization specific intracardiac regions (antero-apical trabecular septum, right ventricular outflow tract); flow masking behind implanted prosthetic material.
