摘要: We propose that the essential function of most highly conserved protein in bacterial cytokinesis, FtsZ, is not to generate a mechanical force drive cell division. Rather, we suggest FtsZ acts as signal-processing hub coordinate wall synthesis at division septum with diverse array cellular processes, ensuring divides smoothly correct time and place, morphology. Here, explore how polymerization properties which have been widely attributed generation, can also be advantageous this signal processing role. mechanisms by senses integrates both biochemical signals, conclude proposing experiments investigate contributes remarkable spatial temporal precision cytokinesis.
