摘要: In conservation and management, carnivore species are often treated as isolated units, even though interspecific interactions can have important implications for the behaviour, demography distribution of involved. this thesis I used individual based GPS-location data to study between two solitary predators in reindeer husbandry area Northern Scandinavia: The Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx), an obligate predator, wolverine (Gulo gulo), opportunistic predator scavenger. Semi-domestic (Rangifer tarandus) is main prey both species, which creates a conflict with management. found no major competition wolverines. had completely overlapping home ranges, they moved independently each other generally selected same type habitat: steep rugged terrain mostly deciduous forest heath. efficient on observed high variation kill rates depending status, season density. Wolverine predation was lower than although dominated diet it attained through scavenging, predominantly lynx-killed reindeer. Although, wolverines scavenged thirds available reindeer, scavenging only minor influence rate. My result suggests that benefit from being sympatric increased opportunities while costs seem be limited. studied densities outcomes may look different ecological settings. Especially, low likely enhance potential competition. This knowledge will useful management conflict: area.
