摘要: Abstract Great Lakes sportfish consumption is a recognized human exposure source to environmental organochlorine compounds. Using data collected as part of the New York State Angler Cohort Study, 203 males were considered with regard history Lake Ontario and sera levels 57 ortho-substituted polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners, dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene, hexachlorobenzene, Mirex. Consumption six species highly contaminated during years 1980 1990 was considered. Exposure weighted by average annual frequency consumption, whole-fish PCB estimates, meal size determine continuous index exposure. This dichotomized compare “consumers” “nonconsumers” in several procedures. Recovery lipid-adjusted serum values for congener IUPAC Nos. 138+163 ( r sp = 0.3 ), 183 187 0.4 188 ) Mirex significantly correlated fish P 0.001 ). A logistic regression model, using forward stepwise selection procedures α in/out=0.002/0.004), employed account high intercorrelations among predictor variables. sole statistically significant variable “consumer/nonconsumer.” one-unit increase log associated 92.0% odds having reported (OR=1.92, 95%CI=1.43, 2.58). Age, body mass index, cigarette smoking, water/wildfowl year sampling covariates. The results this study support premise that long-term dietary sportfish, even at comparatively low levels, contributes burden compounds western anglers sportsmen.
