摘要: Sex steroids exert diverse, divergent and dynamic effects on muscle bone. Beyond their essential role in sexual dimorphism, sex contribute to the accrual, maintenance age-related involution of musculoskeletal system. Falls fractures occur, dire consequences attrition functional decline, association with a critical reduction older individuals. Conversely, reversal steroid deficiency therapies that specifically target receptor signalling (e.g. SARMs) mitigate aspects aging. This chapter will discuss key principles biology, evidence from preclinical clinical studies anabolic anti-catabolic bone, therapeutic possibilities for osteosarcopenia.
