摘要: The number of de novo mutations in the germline can be expected to increase with age males, therefore females might decrease mutation load their progeny by avoiding mating older males. Here, I propose that female polyandry more effective decreasing risk genetic disorders than pre-copulatory mate choice, particularly if sperm competitiveness declines steeply other traits affecting chances males mate. If faster ageing spermatogenic tissue causes transfer inadequate numbers functional sperm, would also benefit directly.
