摘要: The induction of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) from precursor cells requires both antigen and lymphokine signals. Previous work our laboratory has indicated that three lymphokines are required for the CTL murine thymocytes; interleukin 2, interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), a partially characterized factor referred to as differentiation (CDF). While attempting clone CDF human cell line C10-MJ2, we found gene encoding CDF-like activity is identical known variously B stimulatory factor-2 (BSF-2), IFN-beta 26-kDa protein. We report here BSF-2 can induce Ly-2+ thymocytes in presence 2 level cytotoxicity augmented by addition IFN-gamma. Serine esterase, marker granules CTL, was induced only BSF-2, serine esterase correlated with cytotoxicity. These data suggest it functions part inducing proteins mediating target lysis.
