Malformations in offspring of 305 epileptic women: a prospective study

摘要: This paper deals with malformations detected in 26 of 315 newborns 305 epileptic mothers followed prospectively. In 3 more cases, were utero and therapeutic abortion was performed. Two hundred seven women on monotherapy, 102 polytherapy 9 not treated. total, overall incidence 9.1%. Minor anomalies 42 (13.3%). A higher rate minor found among offspring treated valproic acid (VPA). the VPA group, malformed babies had plasma levels first trimester than without malformations. The need for accurate prenatal diagnostic studies pregnant epilepsy is stressed.
