摘要: Summary: Environmental processes are complex, multidimensional and vary across different time scales. The study of this complexity is frequently based on the definition rules or assumptions in form mathematical logical expressions describing how these function. Developing utilising such termed environmental modelling, a methodology that aims to better understand ecological give scientific support management natural resources. limiting factors distribution species elaboration descriptive models had great impulse last decade, with generalisation use Geographical Information Systems (GIS). However, GIS-based modelling has wider potential uses for studies conservation planning several other applications have been explored. In paper application techniques biogeography herpetofauna reviewed, using Chioglossa lusitanica as case study.
