摘要: SEE MUTHURAMAN ET AL DOI101093/AWW164 FOR A SCIENTIFIC COMMENTARY ON THIS ARTICLE: Primary orthostatic tremor is characterized by high frequency affecting the legs and trunk during standing position. Cerebellar defects were suggested in without direct evidence. We aimed to characterize anatomo-functional of cerebellar motor pathways tremor. used multimodal neuroimaging compare 17 patients with age- gender-matched healthy volunteers. Nine underwent repetitive transcranial stimulation applied over cerebellum five consecutive days. quantified duration position severity through electromyographic recordings. Compared volunteers, grey matter volume was (i) increased vermis correlated positively position; (ii) supplementary area decreased lateral cerebellum, which both disease duration. Functional connectivity between abnormally tremor, severity. After stimulation, functional reduced. provide an explanation for pathophysiology, demonstrate relevance cerebello-thalamo-cortical connections related defects.
