摘要: The gaseous oxidation of isopropyl alcohol has been studied in a flow system at temperatures between 350° and 450° atmospheric pressure. Chemical analyses the products have made effects temperature, reactant composition surface conditions are recorded, particularly with reference to formation recovery hydrogen peroxide. During initial stages reaction, peroxide acetone formed slowly linear chain cycle. This cycle continues throughout but small proportion apparently reacts different way, leading acetaldehyde formaldehyde. reaction subsequently becomes autocatalytic nature, complexity C1 C2 is formed. The optimum for high yields discussed. use an ‘aged’ Pyrex vessel low volume ratio appears provide most favourable circumstances preservation this compound.
