摘要: The current study implements a cellular automata-based model for the development of land use/land cover (LULC) future scenarios using Remote Sensing (RS) Imagery series (1985 to 2018) as data input and focusing on human activities drivers in 6700-km2 watershed vital water security Paraiba state, Brazil. methodology has three stages: first stage is pre-processing images preparing them automata use built R software environment (SIMLANDER); calibration establishes variables verifies influence each one LULC region; last step corresponds validation procedures. After calibration, maps (2019 2045) were simulated. results estimate reduction 737 km2 natural between years 2019 2045. spatial distribution anthropogenic interference predicted more significant degradation central region basin. This fact can be potentially attributed by availability increasing from Sao Francisco River diversion. It possible identify an ascending trend actions semi-arid region, which host exclusively Brazilian biome-Caatinga-and contains biodiversity that cannot found anywhere else Earth. helps large-scale modelling based RS products expands possibilities hydrological, urban social context.
