摘要: OBJECTIVE The objectives of the current study were to main environmental factors affecting birth weight (BW) and weaning (WW), estimate variance components, genetic parameters trend evaluate variability relationships among breeding value BW WW using principal components analysis (PCA). METHODS A total 16,370 records collected from 8,271 buffalo calves. Genetic values estimated a bivariate animal model which includes direct, maternal permanent effects. These estimates standardized used in PCA. RESULTS direct heritability 0.06 0.41 for WW, respectively whereas 0.03 0.14, respectively. Proportions due effects dam 0.455 0.280 correlation between WWs was weak approaching zero, but 0.26. first two (PC1 PC2) utilizing according Kaiser method. explained by PCs 71.17% 45.91% 25.25% PC1 PC2, related PC2 those associated with PC1. CONCLUSION results PCA indicate that not genetically correlated improving growth traits Egyptian buffaloes could be achieved without any adverse effect BW.
