摘要: Mucor indicus, one of the most important strains zygomycetes fungi, has been subject several studies since a couple hundred years ago. This fungus, regarded as non-pathogenic dimorphic microorganism, is used for production beers and foods. Morphology fungus can be manipulated well controlled by changing number parameters. Furthermore, M. indicus grow on variety substrates including lignocellulosic hydrolysates which are mixtures hexoses, pentoses, different severe fermentation inhibitors. Indeed, high yield ethanol among features this strain. Presence considerable amounts chitosan in cell wall another aspect fungus. Besides chitosan, biomass shown great potential to rich nutritional source, e.g. fish feed. The also oleaginous fungi produces polyunsaturated fatty acids particularly γ-linolenic acid. autolysate yeast extract replacement Additionally, strain promising results heavy metal removal from wastewaters. review discusses aspects biology industrial application perspectives indicus. open areas future basic applied levels research presented.
