摘要: The Circum-Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean has long been one world's most important petroleum provinces, as well geologically complex regions. These two characteristics have resulted in an extensive amount ongoing research by both industry academia. AAPG Memoir 79, Caribbean, is first volume more than a decade to document such wide range on geology this vast area. Of total 44 papers, roughly two-thirds pertain Gulf Mexico, with emphasis Mexican portion basin, petroliferous areas southern including Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Trinidad Tobago. remaining papers relate Antilles Central America, series that address region-wide topics plate tectonic evolution. A significant number were contributed authors from national oil companies universities within region.
