摘要: Introduction It is difficult to reliably predict abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) expansion and rupture in individuals. There increasing interest the role of patient-specific biomechanical profiling AAA development rupture. This review examines evidence support use AAA. Methods The literature was systematically reviewed examine profiles management patients with A search Medline, Medline process other nonindexed citations, EMBASE performed for articles published from January 1980 December 2008. strategy retrieved 2410 titles. After exclusions, 83 were full form basis this review. Results that factors may be more reliable predicting than currently available clinical biochemical parameters. Wall stress determination using finite element analysis consistently higher symptomatic ruptured Recent improvements computational methodology advances imaging processing technology have increased power these Conclusions Major progress has been made Large population-based studies validation risk assessment tailored decision making are now indicated, particularly introduction screening programs.
