摘要: Glia-derived nexin (GDN) is a 43 kd cell-secreted protease inhibitor with neurite promoting activity. We have raised specific polyclonal antisera to rat GDN. These antibodies stain single band at on immunoblots of concentrated C6 glioma-conditioned medium and been used demonstrate that GDN present in the olfactory system rat. One recognized by bulb homogenate. Immunohistochemistry shows occurs predominantly nerve layer submucosa. Comparative studies against vimentin, GFAP, fibronectin suggest anti-GDN recognizes cells associated system, but not exclusively neurons themselves. Data from immunohistochemical were confirmed RNA blots mRNA expression throughout development bulb. The high levels may be related continuous degeneration regeneration phenomena taking place these structures.
