摘要: The increasingly large number of available writings describing technical and scientific progress, calls for advanced analytic tools their efficient analysis. This is true many application scenarios in science industry different types writings, comprising patents articles. Despite important differences between articles, both have a variety common characteristics that lead to similar search analysis tasks. However, the visualization these documents not trivial task due complexity as well possible relations multivariate attributes. In this survey, we review interactive approaches ranging from exploration sophisticated mining methods. bottom-up approach, categorize them according two aspects: (a) data type (text, citations, authors, metadata, combinations thereof), (b) (finding comparing single entities, seeking elementary relations, finding complex patterns, particular temporal investigating connections multiple behaviours). Finally, identify challenges research directions area ask future investigations.
