摘要: Background: Fluconazole prophylaxis is effective in preventing invasive candidiasis extremely low-birthweight (ELBW) infants. The authors previously reported an increased incidence of cholestasis with fluconazole ELBW infants, which led to being changed a less frequent dosing (LFD) schedule twice week at their institution. purpose the present study was therefore evaluate effectiveness and safety LFD infants. Methods: infants who received regimen (twice for up 6 weeks) were compared (FD) (every 72 h first 2 weeks, every 48 h next weeks 24 h final weeks). two groups baseline demographics, risk factors candidiasis, rate fungal infection severity cholestasis. Results: There no significant difference (2/104, 2%) FD (0/140, 0%; P= 0.4) prophylaxis. lower trend towards decreased observed on schedule. Conclusion: schedule.
