摘要: This paper uses block-group data from the US decennial censuses to document changes in concentrated poverty. It provides several substantive and methodological lessons. First, majority of poor sub-county areas were located (and hidden) low poverty counties. Second, 1990s brought large declines share high-poverty (sub-county) people, including who lived them. Third, minorities—both metro non-metro areas—are highly ghettoized neighbourhoods are segregated whites nonpoor population. Discussions cannot be uncoupled minority residence patterns.
