摘要: Centimeter to submillimeter total flux and polarization monitoring data are used investigate the nature of a prominent flare in quasar 3C 273 during 1995/6. After removal quiescent level, resulting "flare spectra" well fitted by simple homogeneous synchrotron source model, which turn allows movement self-absorption turnover be tracked flare. Both amplitude/time delay relationship overall spectral evolution qualitatively consistent with existing models. The early spectrum is best determined shown excellent agreement Compton stage Marscher & Gear shock model. However, behavior different at millimeter centimeter wavelengths observations difficult reconcile transverse shock. They are, however, conical for observed properties vary distance along jet. Such variations may caused, example, change cone angle owing disruption caused growing component magnetic field parallel jet axis or moderate viewing angle.
