摘要: An enclosed efferent, afferent reservoir breathing system (Maxima, Life Air Pty Ltd), being valveless, was compared to a simple (Humphrey ADE, A mode), having valve, by assessing fresh gas flow (VF) requirements, with respect ventilation (VE), that prevents rebreathing in volunteers, awake and spontaneously. The results are recorded terms of the quotient VF/VE associated onset rebreathing. At same time four clinical methods for were evaluated from perspective suitability practical application during anaesthesia. No significant difference found VF requirements between ADE Maxima systems respective values obtained 0.80 0.77. Our findings showed method sampling carbon dioxide (CO2) at outflow efferent limb patient connector (eliminated CO2 method) both provided highest rate most reliable indication detecting potential or actual rebreathing, when attempting minimize VF. It provides no additional deadspace resistance flow, has advantage only qualitative is purpose
