EFFICACY OF SOME COMMON AQUARIUM FISHES AS BIOCONTROL AGENT OF PREADULT MOSQUITOES

摘要: Predation experiment using Betta splendens, Pseudotropheus tropheops, Osphronemus gorami and Pterophyllum scalare   were conducted against IVth instar Anopheline larvae pupae with varying prey predator densities. Ranking of individual predatory efficacy showed the sequence: P. tropheops > B. splendens O. scalare larva/form scalare against pupal form Anopheles stephensi during 24 hours in laboratory condition. under co-existence interspecific intraspecific combinations revealed significance reference to density water volume (search area).
