摘要: Many reviews have been published on eukaryotic DNA methylation, but in spite of intensive work for more than two decades, many the biological implications this genetic signal, by some termed an “epigenetic signal”, still remain to be elucidated. The nucleotide 5-methyldeoxycytidine (5-mC) has recognized as a modulator motif-protein interactions and hence potential affect reactions molecule. For my own motivation continue research fascinating yet complex field investigations, finding decisively stimulating that distinct, randomly selected segments human genome patterns methylation are identical at level or larger regions among different individuals diverse ethnic backgrounds (Kochanek et al. 1990, 1993; Behn-Krappa 1991). Therefore, it is highly unlikely established mammalian genomes result acting methyltransferase system. available evidence indicates species-, cell type- segment-specific vary with stage development. We do not know how these arise, whether they can fluctuate, what their functional significance may be. Most researchers agree motif-specific serves important function long-term silencing promoters (Doerfler 1983).
