摘要: Salmonella enterica represents a major human and animal pathogen. Many S. genomes have been completed many more genome sequencing projects are underway, constituting an excellent resource for comparative analysis studies leading to better understanding of bacterial evolution pathogenesis. serovar Typhimurium Typhi the best-characterized serovars, with first being involved in localized gastroenteritis hosts latter causing systemic human-specific disease. Here, we summarize genetic differences between two different serovars. We detail divergent repertoires virulence factors responsible pathogenesis organisms that ultimately result distinct clinical outcomes infection. This genomic overview highlights hypotheses future investigations on basis host specificity.
