摘要: Changes in the macromammal richness of Spain during Neogene Abundance and composition Iberian faunas has suffered important changes (23 to 2 million years before present). The present paper analizes describes these changes, also disccusing taxa involved their possible causes. Results from study point out existence an increase species end Lower Miocene first half Upper Miocene, followed by strong impoverishment then on till Pliocene, interrupted a temporal Miocene. Local (individual localities) Middle are, some cases, exceptionally diverse, comparable richest extant tropical ecosystems. Diversity time are usually explained as response climatic changes. However, our analyses that many observad diversity may be due differences fossil record quality. At locality (local) level caused processes formation, while at regional scale number deposits
