摘要: Abstract The present study outlines a theory of how people compare sentences against pictures. This was tested in four experiments which S s were timed as they judged whether sentence (e.g., Star isn't above plus ) true or false picture + ∗ ). latencies these tasks consistent with the thesis that: (1) are represented terms elementary propositions; (2) pictures encoded same interpretive format; (3) two codes compared an algorithmic series mental operations, each contributes additively to response latency; and (4) encoding, comparing, responding serially ordered stages, their component additive. From results, it also possible rule out certain explanations based on visual imagery, conversion converting into is below ), reading time, normative word frequencies, other factors. Finally, shown that this previous studies comprehension, verification, concept related phenomena.
