摘要: Vanadium compounds show interesting biological and pharmacological properties. Some of them display insulin-mimetic effects others produce anti-tumor actions. The bioactivity vanadium is present in inorganic species like the vanadyl(IV) cation or vanadate(V) anion. Nevertheless, development new derivatives with organic ligands which improve beneficial actions decrease toxic great interest. On other hand, mechanisms involved are still poorly understood. A complex disaccharide trehalose (TreVO), Na6[VO(Tre)2].4H2O, here reported, shows properties two osteoblast cell lines, a normal one (MC3T3E1) tumoral (UMR106). affected proliferation both lines different manner. cells, TreVO caused weak stimulation growth at 5 μM but it inhibited dose-response manner between 50 100 μM. significantly UMR106 differentiation (15–25% basal) range 5–100 μM. osteoblasts, behaved as mitogen 5–25 μM. Different inhibitors MAPK pathway blocked this effect. At higher concentrations (75–100 μM), was inhibitor MC3T3E1 proliferation. Besides, enhanced glucose consumption by mechanism independent PI3-kinase activation. In stimulated ERK phosphorylation dose- time-dependent (PD98059, wortmannin, vitamins C E) partially decreased effect, totally their combination. These results suggest that could be potential candidate for therapeutic treatments.
