摘要: The putative cholinergic and GABAergic elements of the pineal organ lampreys were investigated with immunocytochemistry to choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), by acetylcholinesterase (AChE) histochemistry. For comparison we also carried out serotonin (5-HT) a tract-tracing investigation two types projecting cells, i. e., ganglion cells long-axon photoreceptors. Most photoreceptors ChAT-immunoreactive (ChAT-ir) AChE-positive, while tract ChAT-negative AChE-negative or only faintly positive. These results strongly suggest presence system in lamprey organ. GABA-ir fibers that appear originate from moderately stained observed stalk. Immunocytochemistry 5-HT indicated 5-HT-ir bipolar ganglion-like cells. connections studied application DiI stalk fixed brains biotinylated dextran amine (BDA) one main targets pinealofugal (optic tectum mesencephalic tegmentum) isolated vitro. Some labeled optic tectum. However, BDA tegmentum exclusively indicate morphological afferent neuron have different projections. No parapineal experiments, indicating this are involved neural circuits.
