摘要: Cicer canariense is a threatened endemic legume from the Canary Islands where it can be nodulated by mesorhizobial strains symbiovar ciceri, which common worldwide endosymbiont of arietinum linked to genus Mesorhizobium. However, when C. was cultivated in soil mainland Spain, ciceri present, only fast-growing rhizobial were unexpectedly isolated its nodules. These classified into Rhizobium analysis recA and atpD genes, they phylogenetically related leguminosarum. The nodC gene showed that belonged trifolii harbored allele (β allele) different other this symbiovar. Nodulation experiments carried out with lacZ-labeled strain RCCHU01, representative β allele, induced curling root hairs, infected them through infection threads, formed typical indeterminate nodules nitrogen fixation took place. This represents case exceptional performance between tribe Cicereae opens up new possibilities provides insights study rhizobia-legume symbiosis.
