摘要: Abstract Permineralized sporocarps and vegetative parts resembling the extant leptosporangiate aquatic fern genus Salvinia are described from Late Cretaceous Deccan Intertrappean locality at Mohgaon Kalan, Chhindwara District, Madhya Pradesh, India. Considering morphological anatomical variations fossils assigned to a new species Salvinitis deccaniana . Microsporocarps of Azolla, A. also preserved in same chert. Both specimens, permineralized with silica, were studied by making cellulose acetate peels, after etching hydrofluoric acid.
