摘要: B deficiency results in a rapid inhibition of plant growth, and yet the form function plants remains unclear. In this paper we provide evidence that is chemically localized structurally important cell wall plants. The localization chemical fractionation was followed squash (Curcurbita pepo L.) cultured tobacco cells (Nicotiana tabacum) grown B-replete or B-deficient medium. As became deficient, an increasingly large proportion cellular found to be wall. Cytoplasmic concentrations were reduced essentially zero as whereas concentration remained at above 10 [mu]g B/g dry weight all experiments. Chemical enzymic studies suggest majority associated with pectins within Physical analysis tissue indicates plastic extensibility greatly under deficiency, anatomical observations indicate impairs normal elongation growing tissue. which had inhibited tissues green did not show any additional visible symptoms for least 1 week no B. This occurred even though cytoplasmic been extremely low levels (<0.2 [mu]g/g). suggests these species largely role satisfied by very wall, its association pectins, contingent effects on plays critical, although poorly defined, structure higher
