摘要: Congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) is common. In the Western world, incidence 1-3 per 1000 live births. The aetiology encompasses genetic and non-genetic factors accounting for 55 % 45 of cases, respectively. Reports that describe contribution intrauterine infection to occurrence congenital SNHL are limited, comparative analysis different pathogens lacking. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a product bacteriolysis, has been demonstrated be associated with inner ear damage in experimental studies. To elucidate potential role this toxin identify pathogenesis transmission routes, we reviewed literature. We speculate routes exposure LPS utero may result damage.
