摘要: Virtually all economic sectors as well many public and private activities are affected in some measure by changes weather climate. Uncertainties the scope severity of these pose financial social risks for individuals, businesses, government agencies, with direct influence on food security production, transport, health, electricity generation, water resources. The vulnerability human settlement to extreme climate episodes is a further aspect that must be emphasized. Hence, achieving accurate forecasts has important implications modern society. In this chapter, we present an overview basic fluid-mechanical principles govern behaviour We shall mainly focus numerical modelling prediction projections, spanning range from very first attempts, based simple barotropic models, development general circulation models atmosphere ocean most recent multi-model ensemble forecasting systems.
