摘要: The genus Riella (Riellaceae, Sphaerocarpales) includes some 24 species of thalloid aquatic liverworts with unique morphological and ecological features among hepatics. These include the development sporophytes enclosed within involucres growing submerged in seasonal fresh or brackish water ponds. subgenus Trabutiella winged involucres. Seven taxa have been described, however, four to five recognized at a time depending on authors. In this study we conducted revision subgenus, based 59 traits measured under light Scanning Electron Microscopy analyses that were subject statistical analyses. Taxonomically most informative derived from female spores, whereas quantitative vegetative little relevance taxonomy. Lectotypes are designated for section Plicatae R. cossoniana . Our support recognition six species, paulsenii as synonym A new mediterranea is var. echinata raised rank. An identification key, detailed descriptions accepted taxa, updated distribution maps, full illustrations including first provided.
