摘要: The objective of the current study was to evaluate sensitivity, specificity and accuracy fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) submucous nodules from oral cavity head neck region as an auxiliary diagnostic tool. Fifty patients with nodule lesions in were selected. All them submitted FNAB either incisional or excisional biopsy. diagnoses FNABs compared diagnosis gold standard. cases analyzed by a single pathologist prior diagnosis. results showed that sensitivity 75%, its 96% 58.8%. false positive negative rates 6.7% 13.3%, respectively. predictive value 86% 93%. inconclusive rate 16/50. displayed high success for identifying both malignant benign lesions, but low making final
