摘要: SUMMARY A direct, rapid radioimmunoassay was developed to measure progesterone in a small sample of milk taken from full collected at afternoon milking. Samples were preserved with potassium dichromate and mercuric chloride transported the laboratory for assay by semi-automated procedure. Milk concentrations significantly higher pregnant cows compared those non-pregnant 21, 24, 28, 42 60 days after insemination. The greater milking than first morning concentration found be correlated fat content samples low values but not high values. success rate pregnancy test single 28 or insemination ranged 77·5 85·8% 85·7 100% cows. highest 24 when 142 176 (80%) 25 (100%) correctly diagnosed. use paired instead gave negligible improvement rate. accuracy three herds incidence false positive results analyzed.
