摘要: Abstract The Younger Quaternary erosion history was reconstructed in a catchment close to the Chalcolithic giant settlement Maidanetske, central Ukraine based on dated sediment sequences. Four trenches and long percussion drill-core were analyzed valley grading from Loess covered plateau towards Talianky River. sediments by combination of radiocarbon dating, optical stimulated luminescence (OSL) embedded artifacts. Although there is some weakness numerical dating so far, non-coincidence between phases soil local regional over periods Holocene indicated. This, viewed light geographical setting site climate sensitive forest-steppe borderland, suggests climatically driven processes. detected coincide with global (cal 27.6 ± 1.3 kyrs BP, 12.0 0.4 BP), northern hemispheric 8.5 ± 0.3 Mediterranean 3.93 ± 0.1 BP) as well western European (2700 2000 cal anomalies. Increased occurrences heavy precipitation events, probably during weakened vegetation cover, could explain observed record.
