Learning Objects: The Answer to the Knowledge Economy's Predicament?

摘要: Learning objects are bits of learning content. They may be reused 'as is' (simple reuse) or first adapted to a learner's particular needs (flexible reuse). Reuse matters because it lowers the development costs objects, flexible reuse allows one address learners' in an affordable way. Flexible is particularly important knowledge economy, where learners not only have very spefic demands but often also need pay for their own further education. The technical problems simple and rapidly being resolved various technology standardisation bodies. This suggest that object which freely exchanged, updated adapted, about emerge. Such belief, however, ignores significant psychological, social organizational barriers still abound. An inventory these made possible ways overcome them discussed.
