摘要: Cephalopods are important prey in the diet of top predators, such as marine mammals and seabirds. However, detailed information on their trophic relationships Patagonian ecosystem is scarce, including those cephalopod species with commercial interest. The aims this study were to evaluate composition component Otaria byronia determine habitat use levels main by measuring stable isotopic signature beaks. Between May 2005 February 2009, fresh faecal samples collected from two sea lions rookeries San Matias Gulf. occurred 39.4% 1112 during whole period study. dominant was Octopus tehuelchus, which 45.8% scats containing remains, represented 58.7% terms numerical abundance 52.0% mass cephalopods consumed. second most consumed myopsid Doryteuthis gahi. significant higher δ15N values O. tehuelchus beaks comparison D. gahi showed that these have different while occupying similar (δ13C values) neritic waters shelf.
