摘要: Traditionally, research on aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDHs, EC 1.2.1) has focused three groups: class 1, 2, and 3 ALDHs. Class 1 2 ALDHs are very closely related homotetramers both participate in ethanol metabolism, though can oxidize wide range of metabolites, including retinal (reviewed Lindahl, 1982; Yoshida et al., 1). appear at first glance to be highly divergent from the other classes. share only about 25% sequence identity with homodimers. However, main-chain folding, structures monomers nearly identical (Hempel 1999)
