摘要: Coprophagy is a normal feature in the biology of wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) Australia. The evidence presented shows that coprophagy occurs normally during daily period inactivity when rabbits are below ground. When feeding activities commence afternoon on surface, ceases. Evidence suggests passage pellets continues throughout night, formation and ingestion soft recommencing population as whole again moves ground into warrens, early hours daylight. Kittens ingesting soon they leave nests to feed green grass, although suckling for some time. There appears exist seasonal influence rhythm eating faeces. In winter less time spent more green-feeding than autumn spring. It suggested assumes its greatest importance animal summer greater proportion day at any other season. During summer, also, scarce standing pastures dry. evidently this season forced obtain from their food all nutriment possible. Observations show switchover production one type pellet may be either immediate or delayed.
